Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz (1960) –> Do Not Tolerate

Do not tolerate for a minute the idea that you are prohibited from any achievement by the absence of in-born talent or ability. This is a lie of the grandest order, an excuse of the saddest kind. – Maxwell MALTZ in Psycho-Cybernetics 1960

Every author combines resources, experience and ability to share ideas in unique ways. As Psycho-Cybernetics was one of the first books I read back in the nineties about mental state, it has definitely shaped my approach to newer authors. There is a strength in the words and how re-reading the pages make me feel.

As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Maltz realized that the external image could not fix certain internal images.

The book deeply explores the importance and process of goal achievement through the concepts of self-image, the servo-mechanism and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

It is a book that I continue to re-read and that is why it is one of my favourites. I find that older books give me more inspiration than the newer books.

There is no point in reading 100 books if you don’t get anything out of them. Yes a single line can change your life and that is awesome. But having a book that you know is in your library and you can access it for many different reasons, makes it very special.
