Fitted Sheets

It is strange how the mind plays with ideas before the real world comes in and sucks out all the energy. Starting the day with nature is definitely an ideal situation.

Today, thoughts have been about the tug of war between fantasy and reality. There is a question which I have not found an answer.

While making the bed, the fitted sheets never voluntarily find their corners on the first try. Ever. Especially if a cat is helping. When success is found on three, that fourth ends up making one of the others flip. Then you realize the whole thing needs to be turned sideways and start again. When the sheet actually is on, there is a moment when everything is in its place. It is a calming satisfaction when it fits.

Some days, it takes a lot of energy to make things fit.

My thoughts then became, are we trying to fit reality over our fantasies? Or are the fantasies trying to cover our reality?
