A Zillion Targets –> Creating Team Spirit

The example above has 104 targets… it took 45 minutes to hit every bullseye 😉 And almost that long to stick them all up!

–> Take a bunch of used target faces from old competitions and training sessions. All sizes are encouraged. Cover the entire shooting area with them pinned side by side. Create a huge archery wall of a zillion targets.

Have archers shoot their arrows at whatever target they wish. Use multiple shooting lines so that newbies get a chance too.

When a bullseye is hit, substitute a house arrow in the target so that the archer can keep shooting their own arrows instead of leaving it in the target. Keep going until all target faces have an arrow in the gold.

Archers can use different hit zones to keep the challenge level appropriate.

Depending on number of targets and number of archers, this game can take some time before there is an arrow in every single bullseye. The last few targets become quite the challenge when all the archers are aiming at it. There will be cheers when the last one is hit. Be careful with the number of arrows being shot on one target face by removing misses after each shooting line finishes (if necessary).

Clubs develop cliques. Some archers prefer to shoot alone while others want to command the whole range. When a coach wants to bring everyone together to encourage some team spirit then this game of a Zillion Targets does well. Remember that archery needs to be fun so games like this really help club development and makes use of all those old targets too.
