Momentum For The Win

Every roadblock, side quest and idiot that gets in my way, is simply obeying the rules of life. No matter how smooth everything seems to be, something has decided to cause me to get off track. It is also why being a control freak can’t help either.

Those bumps and blockages are well known to all of us. Some things do cause more harm than others. For some people, anything can become disruptive while others seem to carry on no matter what.

Is there a secret power that is needed? Is more preparation required?  Do you just need to plow through even if the end result is not that pretty?

Yes to all of the above.

Every little thing that you can do to keep moving forward is all that is really needed. It does not have to be perfect, elegant or even witnessed… we all just have to keep taking the smallest steps forward no matter what.

If safety is an issue, then please get help. You do not need to keep fighting so hard on your own. There are angels among us who are more than willing to help if they are simply asked.

If waiting for everything to be lined up and for all the could go wrong to be have been anticipated, take a breath. You do not need to be more brave to dive in already. So much energy will be wasted if only used for the preparations instead of getting things started with what is already known. You can do so much with what you’ve got right now. Believe that you have what it takes to get where you need to go.

For those who need things to be a certain way, those over controlling behaviours will eat you alive. It will also push everyone else aside and never give you the confidence of just doing something at 80% instead of the infamous 100%.

Momentum works best when the finish line is known but the route is a little fuzzy. One step can be taken before actually knowing what happens next. And the method in which to keep going does not need style points.

Although the criteria for success is set by each individual, nothing will ever get done if those criteria take on more value than completion of the task itself.

You’ve got this so get going already!
