My ONE Thing –> A Simple Tracker for 2026

Yet again, I am amazed at what some people are trying to sell online!

If some scrolling video ‘star’ has made you feel like you must do their overly complex, expensive thing  in order to find success, then please try this instead…

Take a simple sheet of paper like – 2026 – My ONE Thing  –> it is too basic for anyone to ever charge you anything to do something like this unless they are completely money grubbing soulless creatures! It took me 5 minutes to make and load on my site.

Add your competitions, performances, deadlines as needed…

then track something every day that helps you meet those goals.

  • Marathon – mileage, minutes…
  • Archery – arrows, scores…
  • Squats – numbers, minutes…
  • Sleep – hours, lights out…
  • Reading – pages, minutes…
  • Writing – words, minutes…
  • New language – one word per day…

If you want a new day planner, then make it in a notebook yourself – it is much cheaper than something ordered from the other side of the world. You can get a notebook today while supporting a local shop close to home too. Choose any cover and size you wish. Draw some specific pages for things that are important to you. Writing some numbers out is much easier than trying to fit your life into someone else’s idea of how your days should be aligned, spaced out, coloured or positioned on a page.

Take inspiration from your own life. Let the pages fit you rather than squishing your schedule into a stranger’s version of normal. You can adjust everything as you go along week by week. A daily planner should be simple. If you have a specific project, then try PROOF.

If you are stuck, then start with the ONE Thing pdf at the top of this post – print it out and start filling in each day as you take action.

Need a challenge? Then print it double sided so each side holds a part of your life – exercise/sleep, expenses/savings, reading/writing, screen time/steps, meal plan lunches/dinners…

And you really don’t need a bunch of fancy pens either – in fact, I use a pencil with a refillable lead bought at a local shop.  Just find something that works for you.

Keeping it simple is the easiest first step you can take.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
